Random snacks all day

Yesterday we had a very successfull load of code, so to celebrate our bosses brought in food.

I did not know this, so I stopped at Jewel to pick up some yogurt, and a candy bar JUMPED out at me at checkout, so I had to keep it.

So I started with some fruit and a doughnut.

Later someone said that the pumpkin doughnut was really good, so I had that.

We had a bunch of meetings today, so at noon, we had not left for lunch yet, so I grabbed more fruit.

Then an issue came up at work, so I could not go out,  so ended up going to cafeteria and getting a salad.

I put a LOT of hot peppers on the salad, so I needed milk to get the sting off my lips.

Then at 2:30 I found myself at the snack cabinet again.  for.... wait for it......

I did go back and grab about 5 grapes, but that was ALL I ate for the day.

So very random, but all in all not too bad.

2 days of posts

I logged on to my computer Wednesday night to type in this blog, and POOF, all went dark.  The power went out in our house.  I waited about 5 minutes to see if it was temporary, but nothing came back on. So today will be 2 for the price of 1.  Still a bargain!!!!

Wednesday we had a golf outing for work, so I knew my eating would be STRANGE, and it was.

The day started with a chocolate donut (I did not have my phone on me, so no picture).  Trust me it was GOOD.

They gave us 2 $6 vouchers for food or beer.   At the snack shop, there was not much for me, so I grabbed 2 bags of pretzels, a cheese and cracker package and a 3 Musketeer bar.  It was on $5 so I gave my other ticket away.

After golf they had plenty of food, unfortunately not much that did not have meat.  So Here are the plates I had.

I think I went back for some more carrots and fruit, but did not take a picture.

It was then off to bowling.  Around 8 PM I thought to myself that I was VERY hungry.  Realizing how little I ate during the day, it was no surprise.  But for some reason I did not eat anything else.  So I went to sleep (when the power went out) with a rumbly tummy.

Thursday.

There was a celebration today at work for the new space we moved in to.
So again weird day of food.

Started with Apple Supreme.
I then raided the snack cabinet, but this time I chose better, no pretzels.

but the SIRENS call of the pretzels hit me about 2 hours later and....

I had my LARGE salad for lunch today.  (2 people that do not normally sit with us at lunch commented that it looked like a family sized salad I was eating.  They are right)

The ceremony started at 2, so I had to see what they had.
UNFORTUNATELY the had quite a few veggie friendly options.
Started with slices of potato leak flat bread.  ( I ended up have 4 slices in total)

Then this plate.  the 2 rolls are cucumber and carrot sandwiches.  There is a donut hole, pumpkin square and a brownie.

But that is all I ate.  I did have a can of coke as well.

I am not hungry now, so plan on skipping dinner.

I always plan for Friday to be more open, since we usually go out to lunch, and then I bowl, so tomorrow will also be a strange adventure.

Hershey bar for dinner is normal, Right??

Today was an odd food day.  We had planning all day at work, then after work I had to go fix a computer problem for Deb's Uncle Jack.

Started the day thinking that I had forgot to pack anything for breakfast, so I hit the snack cabinet for pretzels. Figured they could last me to lunch.

When I got to the planning room I saw that they had coffee cake.

We were not breaking for lunch until noon, so I got some fruit as a stop gap

I ate my salad for lunch and upon opening my lunch cooler I saw that I HAD packed Apple supreme for breakfast.  The group ordered from Roti, and someone had a small bread that came with their salad, they did not want it, so I ate it.

The apple dish became my late after noon snack.   Along with some carrots and celery.   There was humus there, I had 4 or 5 small pita chips with that during the day.

As I was leaving work for the day I noticed on my desk a hershey bar that the company gave out as a way to remind us to refer people we would like to work at our company.

I am a SUCKER for Hershey's chocolate bars, so I caved in and ate it.

Somehow I have not had anything else to eat today.  So who knows what the calorie consumption was.  But it was RANDOM for sure.

Snack drawer is back

For breakfast I had an apple supreme.  (I have 3 left, so that will be breakfast this week).

Salad for lunch, and for some reason I was craving a Coca-Cola, so I had to give in.

Tasted too sweet, so that should take care of the craving for awhile.

Around 1:30 I was still hungry, so.... I went to snack drawer (which is now in a cabinet, since our desks have moved).

I knew there were pretzels, since I was with Bryan when he bought the stuff at Costco.

They are SO GOOD, but not sure they are worth the 315 calories.

Dinner tonight was 2 of the home made veggie patties.  They taste SOOO much better with the canned (soft) lentils, instead of the uncooked (CRUNCHY) lentils from the first time.  I put some cheese on it to add to the taste.  I think they turned out pretty good.

I put them in cornmeal before cooking, so that is what you see in the pan.

So far I am getting back in to the swing of the meals I am eating.  I am avoiding the scale for now.  But I feel like my tummy is not as big and I want to give it 2 weeks until I weigh in again.
Started this second go around at 259.6.

I really hope to get to 219 by November 29th.   That would be 100 pounds lost in a year.
I feel that my "final" weight I would like to maintain is 235.  So depending on how it is going, I may get to that weight and stay there.

Brunch

Today we were supposed to go to Goebert's farm to see the giraffes and feed the other animals, but Traycie's kids woke up sneezing, and EVERY time that we hang out with the girls when they are sick, we seem to get sick.  So we rescheduled for a month from now.

So that left the day open for Deb and I.

We decided that we wanted breakfast and that we could just have 1 big meal for the day.
So we went to Claim Jumpers.   We really like the brunch buffet there.

So here is a photo history of what I ate.

Veggie pizza, beans and rice, cheese enchiladas, and scrambled eggs.

Every thing was really good.

Next the breakfast usuals.... waffles, french toast, pancakes.

We asked for a large apple juice, and they did not disappoint.  We had a goblet!!!

back to the cheese enchiladas and beans and rice.  With a small scoop of breakfast potatoes.
I did not finish all the mexican food.  Probably only ate a little over half.

When Deb was getting a plate, they just put out a new cheese pizza, so she grabbed me a slice

(yes there is an onion on there, Deb pulled it off her slice.  It fell off when I picked this slice up.

Finished with 2 bite sized desserts.

Cookie was good, chocolate brownie thing was just okay.

We ended up driving out to Wasco and saw my nephew Jack play the last 5 inning of his game.
Bad part is that he pitched the FIRST 2 innings that we missed.  I like watching him pitch, so I was disappointed.

As we drove home from the game, we did stop for a McDonalds Sweet Tea.

I am still stuffed, so pretty sure I will not be eating anything else today.

Pretty simple food day

Today was a pretty boring food day.
We stayed up late, so it was 11 AM before I even got out of bed.
Started the day with 2 of the Apple dishes.

For lunch I made the last of the 2 veggie patties I had made.

I had some mushrooms and red peppers left over, so I put them in food processor, with bread crumbs, garlic powder and onion powder.  Fried them up, it was not bad as a filler food, but too much to eat as just an on its own thing.   I ate 1 half of it.

Late in the afternoon I did my shopping for next week.  I am going to remake the veggie patties, this time with canned lentils, not the dry uncooked ones.
I also bought enough for 4 salads.   Wednesday I have a golf outing, so I ate one for dinner.
Sorry no picture (you all know what my salads look like by now)

We did have a veggie tray out, so I had some of those.

Played card games with Dave and AnnMarie until midnight, so that is why the late post.

Taking Zoe and Reese to Goebert's tomorrow to feed the giraffes.  Should be fun.

Golf and bowling. Good day

I took today off work to go play golf at North Shore Country Club.  Played okay, but due to a tournament at the club, we could only play 13 holes.  I did so without losing a ball, so that was good.
Made 2 putts from more that 20 feet, that was exciting.   Lets hope the good stuff carries over to Wednesday's work outing.

For breakfast I had the last of the 4 eggs.

I do like making eggs, they just take awhile to get to the way I like them.

When we got done with golf there is a little area where they have some help-yourself snacks.
I grabbed a small plate.

The club does not have a lot of vegaterian options, so I went with a flat bread.  It was pretty good

As we watched the end of the Cubs game, I had a cookie and a Fat Tire beer.

I knew I needed to eat something before bowling, so I looked on yelp for a place with veggie burgers.  Howard Street Inn came up.  I saw that it was a sports bar, so I decided to give it a try.  I asked the waitress what the best meatless option was, and she suggested the pepper and egg sandwich.
So I ordered that with tater tots.    It was a REALLY good sandwich.

as for bowling, I bowled BAD the first game (171), but then I shot 235 and 237 the last 2 games.  Needed a strike the first shot in the 10th the last game to win some money, but left a 10 pin.  Oh well, bowl better!!

Strange dinner combo, but it worked for me

I bought 6 bananas thinking I would make smoothies this week, and I have made only 1.  So I have to finish them up before they go bad.  So breakfast was 2 of them.  (no pictures, hopefully by now you guys are familiar with what a banana looks like.  If there are complaints about lack of photographic evidence, I can post tomorrows banana)

Lunch was the salad.  No pretzels or chocolate milk this time.   (see above parenthetical comment for rational behind no picture)

During the afternoon I was hungry, so looked for a healthy snack.  I remembered the vending machine had these.

I really like them, so was satisfied with my snack.

My co-worker has a costco membership and mentioned he was going after work, so I tagged along to see what they had that I could stock up on in bulk.

I took pictures of a lot of the things I could buy.  I may have to invest in a membership.

While I was there, the allure of frozen yogurt was too strong to resist.
I could not beat the price nor the taste.

When I got home, I had some dishes to load into the dishwasher and more to prep to be washed. Dishwasher was too full to handle all the bowls, pans and plastic containers I have used this week.

So as Deb was eating her dinner, I decided I was not satisfied with frozen yogurt as me dinner.
So I fried up 4 of the eggs. (over hard, break the yolks).

So not your usual dinner fare, but it is what you do with the stuff you have in the fridge

Cooked some eggs today

Breakfast was a banana and the apple supreme.  Since neither of those are exciting, I did not take a picture of them.

For lunch I had the salad.  It needed some crunch, so I bought pretzels to crush in, and I wanted something to drink, so I got chocolate milk.
Here are some pictures showing how darn big the salad really is.

Since the burgers I made required 1 egg, I had 11 left over, so I decided to make scrambled eggs.
Started with mushrooms and red pepper.  Cut them up in to chunks.

After cooking the eggs, I decided it needed salsa.  Ended up like this.

I had some key lime cheesecake left, so I ate half of what is in the picture.

Bowled pretty well tonight.  (for the last 2 games.  258 and 229).  We won 1st and 2nd in doubles and I won first in the scratch king of the hill.  $15 investment, with a $49 return.  Normally there is someone there that runs a 250 pot for the second game.  Meaning that you have to shoot a game better than 250 to win it.  Tonight he was not there, so no extra winnings for me.

Day 2

It is so nice to know exactly what you are going to eat for the whole day, and realize that there is not much prep work you need to do.

Started the day with a banana  (key fob for comparison)

Grabbed an apple supreme to make at work.
Had it around 9:45

I realize that the picture of this salad does not do it justice.  I will take a picture tomorrow with my iPhone 6S as a size comparison.

Went to the work snack cabinet for a mid afternoon snack.  Only thing that was there was a twissler.

Tonight for dinner I made a sweet potato and heated up 2 of my home made burgers.
Using uncocked lentils was a BAD mistake.  I really like these burgers.

Tonight for dessert I refried (in olive oil) some funnel cake fries from the other night.
Ace decided to taste test them.
