Debbie's birthday

I picked up some veggie breakfast sandwiches and tried them.
They were GREAT.  I think I could easily become addicted to them.



Bryan brought in donuts  (THANKS!!!!)


It was raining and ugly looking outside, so we stayed in and I made a salad.

Almost got some green stuff in my salad, I will have to watch that next time.

I surprised Deb tonight by inviting a dozen of her friends and family to dinner at Palm Court.
I started with a whiskey sour.


Had 2 rolls  (can you tell bread is one of my weaknesses??)


More salad  (caesar's this time).  Turned down the offered anchovies.


I ordered the veggie platter with baked potato.  It was so big, that I did not eat all of it.  There was broccoli, spinach on a tomato, mushrooms, asparagus, yellow pepper, red pepper, carrots and zucchini.



We had red velvet cake for dessert (thank you for picking it out Lynda).

2 meals a day - I guess

I was craving a doughnut when I left for work, so I caved and stopped at 7-11 for donuts and chocolate milk.  (not a good start)





I had wanted to go to sweet tomatoes today for lunch, but found out they were closed due to bankruptcy reorganization.  So I went to Pie Five instead





I only had 1 Dr Pepper, I usually have 2 or 3.

Had a little snack in the afternoon.


I was hungry for dinner, but felt the donuts and chocolate milk were a little too much to overcome. So skipped dinner.
Did have a beer at bowling (Thanks Alan)



Shot 678 (206 - 225 - 247) so I was happy.

Taco Bell and Kuma's

So today was not so healthy, but was a day I WANTED to pig out, not sure why, but I just did.  So I started the day with 3 (yes 3) fiesta potato breakfast burritos from Taco Bell (I did not know it was national TACO day, otherwise I might have gone for tacos instead).





For some reason 3 of us wanted to go OUT to lunch, so we decided to go to Kuma's Corner and drag along the 4th person.
They have a really good bean burger.  I got it with cheese and some horseradish sauce.  It was neurosis style.


In the afternoon, I had a sweet tooth, so PIGGED out with 14, yes 14 ENTIRE M&M's.



The good news is that I am still full, so again, not a GOOD day, but not entirely awful either.  (I could have had a bad dinner as well)

Bulls Game

I did not shop over the weekend, not sure why, just never got around to it.
So had to fend for myself for breakfast and lunch.

So I raided the snack cabinet for some pretzels and a granola bar.


For lunch I did make a salad in cafeteria.


I also had a root beer.  It tasted disgusting!!!  way too sugary.


Had a few snacks this after noon




Tonight we had Bulls tickets, so I thought we would just eat at United Center.
$40's later, we had 2 burgers, 2 fries and a large drink (with free refills).

The veggie burger is really good, but $9 and $6.50 for Fries is a rip off.

Deb and I left with 6 minutes to go, seems Bulls made it close.

Lots of dinner rolls

Sunday was a lazy day.  I don't think I went downstairs for food until almost noon.

I made myself a 4 egg omelet with 3 pieces of cheese.


Then I sat down and enjoyed the sportsgasm of programing on today.
I watched the Bears, the Ryder Cup, the Cubs, the Blue Jays and even some of the Chicago Sky.
So I grazed throughout the afternoon.

Then I had some chili, yes, as good as always.


I needed some crunch, so I had some walnuts.


Tonight we went to North Shore Country Club and I knew that there was not a lot of dinner options for me, so I started in on the dinner rolls

And another


The soup for the day was tomato basil, it was REALY good.


Last roll to get the last of the soup from the bowl.


Dinner was a caesars salad.


Followed by the last of Deb's biscuit.


And finally dessert, chocolate hazelnut.


So not exactly a diet day, but not a real pig out day either.

Mamma Mia

We had no plans for Saturday during the day, so we ended up staying home all day.

Breakfast was 4 eggs over hard, with some cheese.


My kittens decided they wanted to try daddy's eggs.
 

I did not let them go at it too long.  I did not want them to horf up anything their little tummies could not handle.

For lunch I cooked 2 of the mushroom patties I had.  Put some salsa on them.  I really like them.


Around 1:30 I needed a snack.  I saw my container of Culver's frozen custard.  It had been in the freezer for awhile and I knew Deb had been eating some of it.  Thankfully there were 4 or 5 spoonfuls left, just enough to curb my craving.


We had tickets to see Mamma Mia (my 24th time) at Aurora, so Deb made dinner plans at Two Brothers Roundhouse.  There were 14 of us at dinner.  The place had a lot of options for me.  I chose a veggie sandwich that had cheese, I chose green beans as my side.   Deb and her mom split something, so there were extra fries (which I took)





Review of Mamma Mia.  The first half of the play seemed a little rushed, with the actors rushing to say their follow up line, before the effect of the first line could take place.  This was similar to the version we had seen in Las Vegas.  There we knew they were in a hurry to get you back out on the casino floor.   Here though there were 3 or 4 cute lines or events that were in every other version, but dropped from this one, so at "halftime" I was a little underwhelmed.   The second half was better.  They had to change some things due to a smaller stage than normal, but I really liked the things they did.  So I left enjoying the show, but with 23 previous viewings, this had a lot to live up to.

Random snacks all day

Yesterday we had a very successfull load of code, so to celebrate our bosses brought in food.

I did not know this, so I stopped at Jewel to pick up some yogurt, and a candy bar JUMPED out at me at checkout, so I had to keep it.


So I started with some fruit and a doughnut.



Later someone said that the pumpkin doughnut was really good, so I had that.


We had a bunch of meetings today, so at noon, we had not left for lunch yet, so I grabbed more fruit.


Then an issue came up at work, so I could not go out,  so ended up going to cafeteria and getting a salad.



I put a LOT of hot peppers on the salad, so I needed milk to get the sting off my lips.


Then at 2:30 I found myself at the snack cabinet again.  for.... wait for it......


I did go back and grab about 5 grapes, but that was ALL I ate for the day.

So very random, but all in all not too bad.
